FOR REX AND FOR BELGIUM
by Eddy de Bruyne and Mark Rickmenspoel

Leon Degrelle and Walloon Political and Military Collaboration 1940-45. Nearly 60 years after the end of the Second World War, the name "Degrelle" remains controversial in Belgium. Was he a traitor to his nation, or a hero for his anti-Communist stance? Until recently, the only information available on the man and his political movement came from Degrelle's own memoirs, or from works heavily slanted for or against him. Eddy De Bruyne, specialist in WWII Walloon Military Collaboration, has devoted over 20 years to intensively studying the available documentation, as well as interviewing the surviving collaborators of that era, including Degrelle himself. His findings represent the most detailed studies of Walloon political and military collaboration yet assembled. With the aid of American Waffen-SS researcher Marc Rikmenspoel, De Bruyne has combined his works into this single volume. The greatest portion of the book is devoted to the most comprehensive account of the campaigns of the Legion Wallonie and its successor SS-Sturmbrigade/Division Wallonien (28th SS Panzergrenadier Division).

THE GERMAN EXPELLEES: VICTIMS IN WAR AND PEACE
by Alfred-Maurice de Zayas

The closing phase of World War II and its aftermath saw millions of refugees and displaced persons wandering across Eastern Europe in one of the most brutal and chaotic migrations in world history. The genocidal barbarism of the Nazi forces has been well documented. What hitherto has been little researched is the fate of the 15 million German civilians who found themselves at the mercy of the Soviet armies and on the wrong side of the new postwar borders. Settled by the Germans in the Middle Ages, the territories of East Prussia, Silesia, the Sudetenland, much of Pomerania and Brandenburg were emptied, the historic ethnic communities in Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia either expelled or killed. Over two million Germans did not survive their forced displacement.

BLOOD, TEARS AND FOLLY: IN THE DARKEST HOUR OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR
by Len Deighton

By 1942 the civilised world had been brought to the brink of ruin. At the height of their power the European dictators and the Japanese military autocracy ruled ruthlessly almost half the world. Standing alone, the British were bankrupt and the United States only driven from isolation by the humiliation at Pearl Harbor. Before the tide fully turned in 1943, the machinery of the holocaust was in place and nuclear devastation well on the way to become a reality. Fifty years on the lessons of the Second World War continue to reverberate unheeded.

BATTLES WITH PANZERS: MONTY'S TANK BATTALIONS 1RTR & 2RTR AT WAR
by Patrick Delaforce

Britain's Royal Tank Regiment has seen the stalemate of trench warfare, the restoration of battlefield mobility and the establishment of armoured and mechanized forces as a dominant factor in battle. During WWI, 1 RTR won two Victoria Crosses and were victors in the first ever tank versus tank engagement, and 2 RTR fought in all the key Western Front battles from Messines to Cambrai. In WWII 1 RTR saw action in the North African desert, in Italy and in Northwest Europe, whilst 2 RTR fought in France, North Africa and Burma, and later in the 1944-45 Italian campaign, ending the war in Austria.
