Giles Romilly, who was Churchill's nephew, was captured at Narvik, and Michael Alexander was captured in N Africa. They were among the "Prominente", POWs whom the Germans thought to be of special value, and they were held as hostages. They were eventually imprisoned in Colditz - along with other "Prominente" including Earl Haig, Marquess of Linlithgow, Michael Alexander, Bor-Komorowski, and John Winant (son of the US wartime Ambassador in London).
