TWICE THROUGH THE LINES

Mass market paperback. Signs of use. Pages browning. Good. The autobiography of one of the last survivors of the July Plot in 1944. He was recruited to the anti-Hitler conspiracy in 1938 and records in great detail the how and why of the plots to kill Hitler. COUNTDOWN TO VALKYRIE
by Nigel Jones

The July Plot of 1944 was masterminded by Count Claus von Stauffenberg, a member of the German General Staff, a decorated war hero. Never a supporter of Nazi ideology, Stauffenberg developed a plot to kill Hitler at the Wolf's Lair on 20th July, 1944. Besides the assassination, Stauffenberg organised plans to take over command of the German forces and sue for peace with the Allies. The attempt failed and Hitler was only injured. In remarkable detail, with photographs, explanatory maps and diagrams, Nigel Jones dissects the events in minute-by-minute detail.

ADOLF HITLER
by Maurice E Kelly (Editor)

Orginally published in Germany prior to World War II as 'Adolf Hitler - Pictures from the Life of the Fuhrer', the book included lauditory articles by such Third Reich luminaries as Goebbels, Shreck, Dietrich, Ley, Speer, Todt and Schirach. The translation by Inge Christi, retains the fanatical atmosphere and language of the National Socialist era.

LUCK OF THE DEVIL: THE STORY OF OPERATION VALKYRIE
by Ian Kershaw

Signed dedication by the author to previous owner. Operation Valkyrie is most associated with the attempted assassination of Hitler in July 1944. Ironically Valkyrie was a plan approved by Hitler, which was to be put into operation if there was a breakdown in communication between Hitler and the High Command in Nazi Germany as a result of Allied action or an uprising. The conspirators involved in the July Bomb Plot planned to use Valkyrie, which effectively passed command of Germany over to the Reserve (Home) Army, to remove the power of the SS, Gestapo and SD, the three major bastions of Hitler’s power base.
