THE FIRST DESTROYERS
by David Lyon

Torpedo Boat Destroyers were the first destroyers of the Royal Navy in the 1890s. With their revolutionary concept of speed and destructive power they were first deployed against the French. The author looks at the development of these vessels up to the River Class of 1900, the German response, and developments in the USA. In a pocket at the back of the book there is a set of large scale plans for modelmakers of the turbine destroyer, Velox 1902.
